We are thrilled to present the official film lineup for 12th Anniversary Big Eddy Film Festival held from September 28 – October 1, 2023! From documentaries to dramas, local films to internationals, and short films to features, BEFF presents a cinematic story for all curiosities.

Little Richard: I am Everything

Presented in collaboration Bethel Woods as part of BEFF: SOUNDCHECK​. Tells the story of the Black queer origins of rock n’ roll, exploding the whitewashed canon of American pop music to reveal the innovator – the originator – Richard Penniman.

BEFF IGNITE: Food Justice & A Single Bite

Join us for an evening the WHOLE FAMILY will enjoy. Join us for two screenings and a panel discussion as we raise funds for A Single Bite. The program includes screenings of A PLACE AT THE TABLE (4PM) and LA BRIGADE (7PM).

Through personal stories, expert interviews, and compelling statistics, the film unveils the harsh reality that millions of Americans, including children, face daily struggles to access nutritious meals.

BEFF IGNITE: La Brigade (Kitchen Brigade)

Cathy is a sous-chef wanting to open a restaurant. With financial difficulties and a bad attitude, she reluctantly accepts a job at a shelter for young migrants. At first Cathy hates the job, then her passion for cuisine starts to change children’s lives, and she too begins to change the course of her life forever.

Join us for a lively workshop where we will collectively make a handmade animated film without using a camera. Participants will draw directly onto clear 16mm film to create colorful dancing abstractions of lines and shapes on celluloid.
