Hailey Freeman and her family are the last descendants of African American farmers who settled in rural Canada after the Civil War. In a famine-decimated near future, they now struggle to safeguard their farm, as they make one last stand against a vicious militia hell-bent on taking their 40 Acres.

Terrell Homes (2019)
Director: Isaac Green Diebboll
Documentary Short
USA | 2019 | 25m
Terrell Homes, a historic 275 unit low-income public housing complex, was built in 1946 on the Passaic River in Newark, NJ. After decades of infrastructural neglect by their landlord, the Newark Housing Authority, the buildings were declared unsafe and threatened with demolition to pave the way for new development as part of “Newark’s Renaissance,” igniting the community’s twelve year battle to protect their home. This film is about “the blessing of public housing”. It’s about the systematic destruction and displacement of public housing residents, and the erasure of established black and brown communities, shown through an intimate portrait of the Terrell Homes matriarchy2
