BEFF IGNITE: a food justice initiative in partnership with A Single Bite.
Thursday, 9/28, will be an evening for the WHOLE FAMILY. Join us for two screenings and a food event at the Tusten Theatre!
Whether you attend all or some of the evening’s festivities, tickets are $15 for adults and free for kids and students, with $5 going to A Single Bite—a local organization that helps educate and put food on the table for underserved communities in Sullivan County. See Details Below.
BEFF IGNITE SCHEDULE
4:00 PM – A PLACE AT THE TABLE Screening
We’ll start the evening off with a special 10th-anniversary screening of A PLACE AT THE TABLE—featuring Jeff Bridges, Raj Patel, and chef Tom Colicchio.
5:30 PM – 2023 BEFF Café
After the powerful documentary about hunger and food insecurity in the US, head outside to the Tusten Theater/Library parking lot to our 2023 BEFF Café for complimentary SINGLE BITES.
We’re excited to have many favorites like Bibimbus, Baked Narrowsburg, Sprouting Dreams Farms, and The Outside Institute, offering complimentary bites and other provisions for sale.
6:00 PM – Food Justice Panel
Engage in a rich panel discussion, “Agency and Action in Food Justice and Community,” while you finish your last bites and then head back inside for the “dessert” screening of LA BRIGADE (Kitchen Brigade).
7:00 PM – LA BRIGADE Screening
This is a fun feature fiction about a sous chef who takes a job in the cafeteria of a hostel, how her expertise helps change the lives of the young migrant workers, and how they also help soften and change her for the better.
To ensure that the impact of A PLACE AT THE TABLE and A Single Bite reaches our young audiences, we are offering this event FREE for kids and students.
