Looking at nature through a hyper-mix of shapes and designs competing for your attention, randomly. What are we looking to see in nature? Is it a script or a choice? Beautiful and calming, in its 100 seconds of abstract and narrative drawing, the images are overlaid on a video of a local fishery in a way that is energetic and dynamic. It's a type of eye exercise to keep from only looking at what we are "told to look at in nature," that spot designated for a quiet photo op. Wampish is a Scottish word for things not properly in order, like fish swimming randomly all about.

7 Second Project (@7secondproject) began as a series of daily Instagram posts involving filming projected video onto arbitrary surfaces every day. Frustrations with the limitations of the equipment I began with led to multiple shifts in craft as well as temporality. The daily constraint was dropped and new techniques were added. For example, footage of some tabletops at The 108 were projected from a laptop onto a color e-ink tablet displaying the same video running at a different frame rate. This was then recorded and tightly edited, a moving palimpsest and brief record of things I simply found interesting to look at, with no deeper message intended beyond any meaning it may have for a viewer. Later videos were created by filming with one camera while using a live feed directly into a projector from a different camera. The result is a series of non-narrative explorations into light, juxtaposition of color, contrast and form with occasional forays into movement and perspective. If you live in or near the Big Eddy you will likely notice some nearby locations and maybe even other peoples’ art. Hopefully these video sketches free your mind up to wander and imagine or be reminded of anything you like.

Forms 形 is a dance film inspired by the ancient Chinese cosmological system of the Five Elements (五行): Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Drawing on the cyclical nature of the Five Elements, the film explores identity as fluid rather than fixed: constantly shifting, transforming, and becoming.

A lifetime of surgeries continues with an upgrade in battery life and a downgrade in scar tissue when the filmmaker has his original pacemaker replaced after sixteen years.

Mysterious background processes co-opt human curiosity and ingenuity, setting in motion a relentless march toward progress. The Mother of All Daemons is a highly speculative, loosely plotted history of the Information Age told through recontextualized archival footage and other publicly available source material. Mostly nonsense.
