Frequently Asked Questions
You've asked, we've answered! Here's a list of the most common questions about The Big Eddy Film Festival. Feel free to reach out directly for any more information.
With so many great films to share with you, we offer multiple program tracks during the festival. We do our best to schedule across interests yet from time to time, two screenings you are interested in might overlap. You’ll find a limited number of “encore” screenings offered in the schedule. For other situations, we encourage you to attend the screening or event that you won’t be able to experience anywhere else!
While the charm of the Tusten Theatre is found in its historic interior and art-deco style, we realize that includes vintage seats which are, well, vintage. Not to worry – we have a few offerings ranging from seating alternatives and custom seat cushions that will let you focus on exciting films rather than your keister. Our amazing volunteers are here to help take care of you!

From the Blue Fox Motel along Route 97 to the Hotel Darby just across the Narrowsburg Bridge to numerous unique accommodations via Airbnb, there are many great options for you to make this a comfortable weekend with us!
- Our friends at the Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce have a comprehensive catalogue of recommended lodging in the area.
- For those interested in exploring a bit more of the region, the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association features accommodations throughout the county.
This time of year in the Catskills is unpredictable. Think layers. After sunset, temps drop quickly. If the weather cooperates, we’ll expect highs in the 60’s and lows in the 50’s. It’s a good rule of thumb to remember we are usually 5-10 degrees cooler than NYC.
We have several events that will take place outdoors—mostly for food and fun. Our only outdoor screening is Sunday evening at the Cochecton Pumphouse. We’ll be screening The Big Lebowski during the THE DUDE ABIDES Wrap Party. You are encouraged to wear your shawl, collar sweaters, and bathrobes to dress up for the event. The Pumphouse is entirely outdoors and the location is weather dependent. If we have storms coming, we’ll move this party to a venue in Narrowsburg, TBA.
You may also want to pack an outfit for SEXY BREAKFAST—our program of Sexy Shorts on Sunday at the Narrowsburg Union. Sexy costumes, pajamas, and robes are encouraged.
There is available public parking at each screening venue.
Parking information will accompany each screening confirmation letter. All venues are ADA-compliant and within walking distance of each other.
If you will need special assistance, please contact our festival producer, Amanda McCormick, in advance of the screening(s) you plan to attend.
With tons of exciting programming this year, it’s going to be essential that all films and events start at their scheduled times. That means making sure you have time to get from one screening to the next in time to get your popcorn and a great seat!
The lobby and concessions open 30 minutes before each screening. Seating begins 15 minutes before the show. Thank you for playing your part in making things run smoothly!
